Koctepe is the first inundated village covered by water in the Ilisu dam project. Remains of ceramics from archaeological excavations indicate a history going back to 3000-2700 BC.

M. Bilge Satkin is a photographer based in Istanbul, Turkey. He received his doctorate degree from the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. He teaches as an Associate Professor in Marmara University Photography Department. He has participated in solo and many group exhibitions in diverse countries, in addition, his works have been awarded Pictures of the Year International "Environmental Vision Award" and Lucie Foundation "Photo Taken" Award. His photo reportages that were taken in Iran, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Lebanon were published by Anadolu Agency, Middle East Images, Redux Pictures, and Getty Images. He is a member of Diversify Photo. He works for the United Nations Development Program (Turkey) as a volunteer photographer. His works mostly focus on social injustice, climate change, and migration.
