Building Seawall Tarawa
The perspective of this image shows both the scale of the challenge of rising sea-levels, and a human story through the men doing their best to keep the sea at bay. A global impact, through the lens of identifiable individuals, engaging pro-actively with a way of minimising the problem.

WHAT IT SHOWS: Two men work on a breakwater made from coral rocks in preparation for the king tides. Such coastal defences are intended to break the swell and protect the homes right next to the lagoon and on the ocean side of the low-lying atoll Tarawa.
