WHAT IT SHOWS: Workers construct a pipline as part of the Belgian Coast Safety Plan. The Governement launched this plan in order to protect the coastline against the threat of a super storm which could cause a major flood. This beach in Oostende will be covered with 500,000 m³ of sand in order to elevate it by one to three meters. The sand comes from a sand bank in the sea.
