Seawall in Thailand
The perspective of this image shows both the scale of the challenge of rising sea-levels, and a human story through the men doing their best to keep the sea at bay. A global impact, through the lens of identifiable individuals, engaging pro-actively with a way of minimising the problem.

WHAT IT SHOWS: Workers build a seawall as water breaches a highway in Laem Talumpuk cape. The region is threatened by sea level rise due to climate change. Climate change-induced wind pattern has intensified the speed of coastal erosion in both the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. On average, 5 metres of coastal lands in the region are lost each year.
