Tar Sands Trap Lines
Our research emphasised the importance of telling new stories about climate change. A photo of one woman and her isolated cabin being approached by a truck is unusual. In this story her mother’s cabin in the background has been surrounded by oil industry development. This demonstrates the way the oil industry has destroyed the indigenous way of life for many people around the world.

WHAT IT SHOWS: An Indigenous woman in Northern Alberta watches as a oil industry truck rumbles by on the dirt road. Behind the woman is her family's cabin. Her mother's trap line has been destroyed by the tar sands industry and the cabin is no longer used by the family.
