School Strikes Germany
Our research found that most people do not feel an affinity with climate change protesters, so images of protests may reinforce the idea that climate change is for ‘them’ rather than ‘us.’ Protest images involving people directly affected by climate impacts were seen as more authentic and therefore more compelling.

WHAT IT SHOWS: The protester have stopped for a short rally outside the Alte Oper (old opera). Over 6,000 people (mostly pupils who skipped school to take part in the protest) marched through Frankfurt, to protest against the climate change and for the introduction of measurements against it. The protest was part of the worldwide climate strike day by the FridaysForFuture movement, started by Greta Thunberg in Sweden.
