Bathing in Contaminated Flood Water
Survey participants were moved more by climate impacts over ‘causes’ and ‘solutions.’ Images of climate impacts can prompt and desire to respond, but because they are emotionally powerful they can be overwhelming. Coupling images of climate impacts with a concrete behavioural ‘action’ can help overcome this.

WHAT IT SHOWS: Moyna’s home in Bangladesh is completely surrounded by contaminated floodwater. Here, the 10-year-old is taking a bath – the only way she knows to try to keep clean. Children like Moyna are vulnerable to water-borne diseases and respiratory problems because of the time they spend in dirty floodwater.
