Deforestation was easily recognised in our research as a climate-related image. Showing the scale of this acknowledged and emotionally impactful climate cause is likely to provide a powerful connection with the viewer.
WHAT IT SHOWS: CANADA. British Columbia. September 27, 2007. The Polarboard mill is located a couple miles southeast of Fort Nelson and over 100 miles east of the Muskwa-Kechika. This mill hauls in over 1.3 million cubic meters of wood in 100 days in the winter. The wood is oriented strand board, where chips of wood are oriented to create the board. By the end of March of each year, the yard, much larger than the cross section shown here, is at full capacity.
